During interPLAY 2009, August 7 - 9, Peter Pond Shopping Centre will be hosting THE AMAZING ART RACE--three incredible races over 3 days in the Centre Court of the Peter Pond Shopping Centre.

Race #1 - Friday, August 7, 1 - 4 pm
Race #2 - Saturday, August 8, 1 - 4 pm
Race #3 - Sunday, August 9, 1 - 4 pm

Each artist gets 1 canvas, 1 theme and 180 minutes to create their masterpiece and a chance at a Peter Pond Shopping Centre SHOPPING SPREE.

• Junior Class Winner (12 years and younger) - $250 shopping spree
• Senior Class Winner (13 to 18 years) - $500 shopping spree
• Open Class Winner - $1,000 shopping spree
• Open Class 2nd Place - $500 shopping spree
• Open Class 3rd Place - $250 shopping spree
• Random Draw Winner - $250 shopping spree (all contestant who haven’t won will be eligible)
  

All prizes will be awarded on the TransAlta Mainstage on Sunday, August 9th at the conclusion of the Petro Canada Homegrown Talent Search. All finished artwork will be on display at the Peter Pond Shopping Centre until August 31st at which time they will be turned over to the artist.

Eight contestants per race will be chosen by lottery following the registration deadline and given the theme. The interPLAY Festival provides a 12” x 16” canvas (back-wrapped and stapled on solid 1.5” thick stretcher bars,7 oz 100% cotton canvas double primed with acrylic gesso).

VERY IMPORTANT:
The artist provides all materials necessary to create the artwork.
